ASUS sets OC world record with Intel Core i9-14900KF at 9.044GHz! | Talking Tech | Intel Technology

SkatterBencher collaborates with ASUS, ElmorLabs, and Intel to break the CPU Frequency World Record once more, this time with the Core i9-14900KF.

“Go behind the scenes of the world record set by master overclockers Jon “Elmor” Sandstrom and Pieter “SkatterBencher” Plaisier and experience the emotional roller coaster of achieving such a feat. Preparations were carefully made in advance to ensure that the ASUS team had the right set of Core i9-14900KF processors, the right configuration for the ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore motherboard, and all the proper tools needed to set the record. All bets are off once liquid helium is poured into the pot, and not everything goes according to plan…”

We previous achieved this feat with the Core i9-13900K, breaking the 9 GHz barrier for the first time ever. Intel also published a video of this feat, which I link to in this blog post.

In the new video, Intel takes you behind the scenes of an overclocking world record. It includes footage of the setup, brings you along the emotional rollercoaster that defines the difference between failure and success, and in the the accompanying interview, we also extensively talk about regular and extreme overclocking. You can check the video below.
